Acrylic on Canvas
This painting began as an art class project. I was experimenting with a new technique – for me that is. I tried out spraying water unto the painted background. That way the paint began running down the canvas. By shifting the angle of the canvas, the paint would run in different directions. I went for a warm background color, to get myself out of my safe-zone. I usually use various blues and greens. Though I began the painting with the intensions of making a pieceful and warm piece. But as I proceded it transited towards red hot and quite intense. It makes me think of fire – and isn’t there a bit of a phoenix?
